Common questions

Do I need an account or the internet?

No. There is no sign in and no account. Chocks Away works with no signal, so it is ready at a remote campsite.

How do I change a checklist?

Go to My Lists, open a list and tap Edit. You can add, rename, reorder (drag the handle, or use the up and down arrows) and hide items. Your changes are kept even when we update the built-in lists.

The text is too small

Go to Settings, then Text and colours, and choose Big under Text size. High contrast gives solid colours that are easier to read in bright sun.

Can it read the list out loud?

Yes. In a checklist tap Read aloud. You can choose the voice in Settings, Read-aloud voice.

How does the Level tool work?

Put your iPhone flat on the floor or a bench in the van. The screen shows which side is low and roughly how much to raise it. Tap Calibrate on a known flat surface for better accuracy. The amounts are estimates, so always check with a proper spirit level if it matters.

How do I back up my lists or move them to a new iPhone?

Go to Settings, then Backup & restore, and tap Save a backup file. Save it to Files or email it to yourself. On the new phone, open Backup & restore, tap Restore from a file and choose it. Your iPhone’s own iCloud Backup also includes the app’s data.

Can I print a list?

Yes. Open a list and tap Print. You can print it or tap Share as PDF. The large print layout is good for laminating and keeping in the van.

Does it sync between my phone and my partner’s?

Not yet. Each iPhone keeps its own lists. You can share a list as text or a backup file.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once. There are no in-app purchases, ads or subscriptions.

Safety note

The checklists are a memory aid only. They do not replace your vehicle, caravan or equipment manuals, or the road rules in your state or territory.
