Chocks Away

Caravan checklists, big and clear

Privacy Policy

Effective 2 November 2026.

The short version

Chocks Away does not collect any data. There is no account, no sign in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your checklists, history, pantry and settings are stored only on your iPhone. We, the developer, cannot see them.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter (your rig details, checklists, ticked items, trip history, pantry and shopping lists, and your settings) is saved in a database on your iPhone. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it.

The app also keeps a few automatic backup copies on your iPhone, so you can undo a mistake. If your iPhone uses Apple’s iCloud Backup, those copies are included in your own iPhone backup, which is handled by Apple under your Apple account.

Things you choose to share

If you tap Save a backup file, Share as text, Print or Share as PDF, the app hands the file to the iPhone share sheet. Where it goes next (for example Mail, Messages, Files or a printer) is up to you, and that app’s own privacy terms apply. We do not receive a copy.

If you tap Email the developer, your email app opens with our address filled in. We only see what you choose to send, and we use it only to reply to you.

Phone features the app uses

Motion sensor: the Level tool reads the iPhone’s motion sensor to show which side of your van to raise. The readings are used on the phone in the moment and are never stored or sent anywhere.

Notifications: if you ask for a rest-stop reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your iPhone. No notification server is involved.

Read aloud: spoken checklists use the iPhone’s built-in voice.

No internet needed

Chocks Away works with no signal. The app itself makes no network requests and sends no data to us or anyone else. Opening our website links (this page or the support page) uses your web browser.

Children

Chocks Away is a general audience app and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Because everything is on your iPhone, deleting the app deletes all of its data. You can also delete or reset individual lists inside the app.

Your rights

We handle privacy in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. As we hold no personal information about you from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you email us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date below. If a future version of the app ever collects data, we will say so here and in the App Store listing before it does.
